    It seems these types of things are always in the northeast. Hoping in the future to see this energy down south.

      I don’t know which South you’re in, but the Southern Orthodox I’ve visited tend to be much more energetic than many of their brethren in the rest of the country!

      In any event, that there are many Orthodox events in the northeast largely has to do with the higher concentration of Orthodox population in that region, mainly deriving from the original patterns of immigration.

      All that aside, I’m perfectly willing to come visit the South if invited. I was born there and was brought into Orthodoxy there, at an amazing parish.
